Arthur Lewis Creighton

Arthur Lewis Creighton’s life began on November 23, 1955, to the proud parents of Henry Harris and John Ethel Casey. He departed this life on January 1, 2026. He is now reunited with those who are resting in the arms of Jesus, his parents, three sisters: Carolyn Strickland, Emma Lee, and Shirley Ann Creighton; and one brother, Larry Creighton. Lovingly known as “Cuda, he attended school at St. Francis Catholic Church. He was also a fireman for 23 years and served as Battalion Chief for the Yazoo City Fire Department. While serving as a fireman, he was a substitute teacher for the Yazoo City School District. He also worked for MDOT for almost three years, where he finally retired. While passing through his earthly home, memories of the love he showed will be cherished by all who knew him. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, a loving wife of 46 years, Joyce Creighton; two children that he raised as his own: son, DeVonte’ Cathey of Dallas, TX and daughter, Deonna Perkins of Yazoo City, MS; one brother, Thomas “Wendy” Wright (Denise) of San Francisco, CA; and one sister, Gloria Jean Carter of Illinois. He was the big daddy of five children: Marlon Casey, Breia Esters, Jordan Perkins, and Toni Winters, all of Yazoo City, MS; and Gregory Esters of Madison, MS; five brothers-in-law: Edward Haymon Jr, Tony Haymon, Christopher (Kim) Bang, Richard (Denise) Griffin, and Isiah Burns (Evelyn), all of Yazoo City, MS; four sisters-in-law: Shirley Cathey, Debra Cathey, Carolyn Johnson, and Robin McCallister, all of Yazoo City, MS; one favorite uncle, W.J Cathey of Springfield, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
