The family of Bobby Eugene Jones is saddened to announce his passing at Baptist of Yazoo on February 12, 2023, of Parkinson’s Disease and complications of Covid. Bobby was born on October 22, 1942, to Emmett Andrew Jones and Annie Rene Ellzey Jones who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister Martha Frances Corley. He is survived by his wife Carol Ann McIntosh and his son Robert Edward (Robbie) Jones, his sister Teresa Ann Jones, all of Yazoo County, his brother, Thomas Eslie (Patty) Jones of Emory, Texas, niece Stephanie Ellis, nephews, Jonathan Tubbs, Brian Tubbs, and Thomas Jones. Bobby spent 23 years in the Army and retired as Master Sergeant. He was a member of the Army Security Agency (ASA) which became the Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) January 1, 1977. He served in Southeast Asia, Germany, and US installations. After his retirement from the Army, he was the owner of Yazoo Exhaust until the tornado of 2010. He earned his Associate’s Degree from Mount Wachusett, in Massachusetts, and attended University of Maryland while stationed in Germany, and finished at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi after he retired. His favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing. Funeral Services will be Friday, February 17, 2023, at Short Creek Baptist Church with burial at Short Creek Cemetery next to his mother and father.
