Christine E. Bass, age 53, peacefully entered eternal rest on June 9,
2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Yazoo City, Mississippi, Christine spent her childhood years
In Chicago, Illinois, then later made her home in Louise, Mississippi,
where she built lasting relationships and created cherished memories
with family and friends. She was known for her warm heart, vibrant
spirit, and unwavering love for those around her.
Christine was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Edna Bass;
her father, Chester Jenkins; her grandparents, Leroy Bass,
Josephine Bass, Alice Jenkins, Coleman Jenkins, and her
brother, Curtis Bass.
Throughout her battle with cancer, Christine never stopped fighting for
strength, courage, and grace. Her resilience and determination served
as an inspiration to her family and friends, and her faith carried her
through life’s challenges with dignity and hope.
Christine leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving daughter,
LaPorche’ Steward Towers; her son, David Steward Jr.; her
cherished grandsons, Malik Steward, Davion Wells, and Makhi
Towers; her brothers, Tyrone Bass, Johnny Mims, and Howard
Mims; her sisters, Alisa Bass, Tina Bass, Selena Bass, and Lucinda
Mims, Chichundra Mims, Hildarea Mims, and Khristi Mims, along
with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members,
and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her love and presence
“Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. She is loved beyond
words and missed beyond measure.”
Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we take comfort in
knowing that Christine’s love, kindness, and beautiful spirit will
continue to live on through the many lives she touched
