Curtis James Taylor

Sergant 1st Class Curtis Taylor, 52 expired on Sunday, February  4, 2018 in Montgomery, Alabama. Curtis was the 10th child born to Lee Dora Taylor and his father Judge White. He loved fishing, vacationing, and joking around with family and friends. He always put others before himself. He confessed Christ at an early age at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church under Rev. Z. P. Johnson. He was a 1983 graduate of Bentonia High School, where he graduated in the top 3 of his class. Upon completion he went into the Army where he proudly served our country for 22 years before retiring in August of 2005. He fought in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. God saw fit to bring him home safe and back to his family. Curtis didn't stop there he continued to work at Adtran for 12 years as a supervisor. While there he never missed a day of work. Curtis leaves to cherish a loving wife, Gloria Taylor. 2 Sons: Anthony (Tara) Garoute and James Taylor  (Darbie Wilson) . 2 Daughters: Nikki Garoute and Deaunna Taylor. 2 Granddaughers: Iliana and Hensley Garoute and a bun in the oven. 2 beloved dogs: Boomer and Basil. 3 Brothers: Raymond Taylor, Greenville, MS; Bobby Taylor, Yazoo City, MS; Willie (Linda) Taylor, Satartia, MS. 6 sisters: Edna (Johnnie Lee) Anderson Satartia, MS; Gloria (Alfred) Harmoon, Kosciusko, MS; Charlotte Priest and Marie Brown, Yazoo City, MS; Lousie (Ivory/Earl) Luckett and Rachel (Calvin) Garner, Satartia, MS. 1 mother-in-law- Margaret Hayes, Oneonta, AL an adopted mother Lula T. Garner of Satartia, MS. 3 sister-in-laws- Donna (John) Franklin, Locust Fork, AL; Wendy (Mark) Phillips, Oneonta, AL and Ann Taylor, Satartia, MS. 3 best friends, Carter, Thomas, and Judge. A special aunt, Helen Thompson, Oneonta, AL. A special cousin Robet Hill, Stone Mountian, GA and a host of aunts, uncles, nieves, nephews, cousins, and friend. Curtis, is preceded in death by his moth4er Lee Dora Taylor, father Judge White, 2 brothers: Edward Hill and Elton O'neal Taylor, father-in-law Edgar Hayes, and 2 brother-in-laws; Barry Hayes and Anthony Brown, special cousin J. C. Taylor.
