Delois Dean Gibson was born on March 20, 1959, in Jackson, MS. Delois was the second oldest of six children
by Dave and Yvonne Williams.
By many, she was called Lois Dean, Lois, and Grandma but to family and friends she was affectionately known
as Lois. Lois was a loving, devoted, and hardworking wife, mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. As a
child, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She always had an upbeat spirit. To know Lois, she was a
fighter, brave, tough, a tell it like it is person, a veteran softball player, and most of all…a diehard San Francisco
49ers Fan.
On the morning of June 14, 2018, as her husband Charles of twenty-two years and other family members were
by her side, God sent one of his angels with some wonderful news to the hospital and prepared Lois for the great
transition. At approximately 1:35 a.m., an angel grabbed her by the hand and said follow me. We don’t know why
she was taken so early from us but it is rumored that GOD needed a veteran softball player to play on his team,
“The Divine Angels Softball Team”.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents W.C. Roberts and T. Etta Roberts, her maternal
grandparents Dave Williams Sr. and Rosie Lee Williams, her parents Dave and Yvonne Williams, and her
daughter Lakenya Latonya Gibson.
Left to cherish her homegoing and loving memories are:
Children: Dr. Howard O. Gibson of Little Rock, AR; Natalie Gibson, Nicole Gibson Dear (Karl) and Dameon
Gibson, Sr., all of Jackson, MS.
Siblings: Ruby Jewel Roberts, Randall Williams (Nina), Walthall Williams, Dave Williams, III.
Grandchildren: Quindarius Gibson, Isaac Gibson, Fredreka Williams, Fredrick Williams, Nicholas Gibson, Alex
Williams, and Dameon Gibson, Jr., all of Jackson, MS and Camron Gibson of Little Rock, AR.
And a host of Great Aunts and Uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends….
