Elmer Earl Singleton Sr. affectionately known as "Tommy" was born on May 23, 1944 in Yazoo City, Mississippi to the union of Tommy Singleton (who preceded him in death) and Edna Carter. He was the middle child of three children.Tommy accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age.Tommy attended Kelly and Gibbs Elementary Schools in Bentonia, Mississippi. Later, he relocated in Chicago, Illinois, where he attended Marshal High School.Tommy was known for his strengths in carpentry and his "to do" attitude. He has the attitude of "what can't I do." He explored many projects: fixing on homes, cars, welding, electrical work, and plumbing. Tommy was the "jack of all trades".Tommy transitioned into Eternal Life on August 30, 2017; he was greeted at the Heaven's Gates by his dad Tommy Singleton; his beloved son Michael Deal; and beloved daughter Claudette Henderson.Tommy leaves to cherish his memory: his wife: Abbie L. Singleton; seven children: Ida Delores Jones (Chester), Katryna Hardy (Tommy), Derrick Singleton (Emily), Patricia Singleton, Jeffery Singleton, Katina Singleton, and Elmer Earl Singleton Jr,; beloved brothers Ed Lee Clifton (Betty) and Greg L. Marshall Sr,; beloved sisters: Linda Owens, Rita Singleton, and Janet Phillips; twenty-four grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
