May 4, 1935 ~ October 29, 2017 “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.” I John 4:7 During a season filled with unbearable heat, rows of crop fields, and a brisk breeze of the night, a child is born. Shedrick and Josie Taylor experience this life gift of a daughter, Frances Taylor Allen Branch on May 4, 1935, in Yazoo County, Mississippi. Here, her sunrise began a shimmering light into a life of remarkable blessings which God had planned. She was the oldest of five siblings all of whom preceded her in death. At an early age, Frances confessed Christ as her personal savior at Beach Grove M. B. Church under the leadership of Reverend Booker Miles. In 1952, Frances was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Woodrow Allen who preceded her in death. Later in life she moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, where she met and married Mr. Ulysses Branch who preceded her in death. She was a devoted loving wife and mother. On Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the hour of 11:45 am a heavenly Angel came down and whispered softly in her ears. My Child, come and take your rest in the land where there is no more pain, nor sorrow, nor suffering. Frances decided to join the heavenly angels quietly in peace, from her earthly home. She will be lovingly remembered and cherished by her immediate and extended family and friends. Frances leaves to cherish her love and memories, five daughters: Clara (Roosevelt) Davis of Terry, Mississippi, Ella Johnson of Rochester, Minnesota, Lorraine (Morris) Fills of Port Arthur, Texas, Barbara Wade and Carmen (Davis) Franklin both of New Orleans, Louisiana; four sons: Herman Allen of Phoenix, Arizona, Clifton Allen of Atlanta, Georgia, Johnny (Marie) Allen and Gaylord Allen both of New Orleans, Louisiana; twenty-nine grandchildren, and thirty-two great-grandchildren; two (2) step-sons and four (4) step-daughters; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
