Irene Fleming began her journey of life on October 27,1948, to the late Irene and Richard Fleming of Yazoo City, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Frizell Fleming and John Fleming. Irene accepted Christ at an early age, where she was baptized at Tulane Missionary Baptist Church, where she became a devoted member. Irene served on the Usher board, worked with the youth ministry along with serving on the mother board, women's ministry, served as the facilitator of the prayer line ministry, and was a member of the Comfort, Grief, and Bereavement Ministry. She served faithfully in these capacities until her health failed. Irene attended St. Francis after she attended ND Taylor High School, where she graduated in the class of 1967. Irene then furthered her education at Holmes Community College, where she received her certificate in business. She then attended My Lady School of Cosmetology, where she became a licensed beautician. She worked several jobs, including cotton gin, Furniture store, Yazoo Housing Authority, and IGA Grocery store, for many years. Irene was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star (OES) where she served in Star Light Chapter 156 as Secretary and Star Point Ruth. Irene leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters: Alzina (George) Fleming Winford of Hattiesburg, MS, and Monica (Dameon) Fleming Roberts of Yazoo City, MS; six grandchildren: Gabriel, Makaja, Zoie, Meaghan, Maze, and Mazon; and four great-grandchildren: Mazi Boone, Kodi, Milani, and Kari Winford. She also leaves to behind two sisters: Doretha Houston of Chicago, IL and Patricia McGee of Jackson, MS; eight brothers: Jimmie (Clara) Fleming of Jackson, MS, Gregory (Lavonne) Fleming of Yazoo City, MS, Richard Fleming of Jackson, MS, Mike (Michelle) Thomas of Wichita, KS, Marvin (Lashanda) Galloway, Carl Fleming and Ruben Fleming, all of Yazoo City, MS; her uncles: Evan and Edward Davis, and uncle David; Godchildren: Zachary Thomas, Gamel Williams, Rosalind Smith, and Bobby Wayne Monston. She also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memories. She enjoyed a special and close relationship with a multitude of people whose lives she blessed tremendously. There are too many of you to begin to name, but you know who you are.
