B. Church in Bentonia, MS. He waseducated in the Yazoo County School District. His passion was playing the guitar and he was a brickmason by trade.“Junior”, as known by many, resided in New Orleans, Louisiana for forty years until he was displaced byHurricane Katrina in 2005. His parents, Johnnie and Alice Henderson Thornton, two siblings, EverleanaYoung and Bozie Lee “BL” Thornton, all preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory, twochildren, Curtis and Johnna Thornton, and a grandchild; three brothers, Samuel (Jerrie) Thornton,Edward (Erma Jean) Thornton, and Roosevelt (Sherry) Thornton, all of Jackson, MS; sister-in-law, VirginiaThornton of New Orleans, LA; three aunts, Lessie Bell Thornton Jenkins and Alma Henderson Williamsboth of Bentonia, MS, and Lillie Henderson Berry of Chicago, IL, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,and friends.
