Mr. Joseph W. Braden(July 16, 1941 - July 26, 2017)Reflection of Life “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 A Time To Be Born… On July 16, 1941, Joseph W. Braden was born to Mr. Robert Braden and Ms. Lucille Williams. Joseph, known as Joe, was the second born. Joe was raised by his grandmother, Florene Braden and his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Garrette Scott, Jr. of Yazoo City, Mississippi. A Time To Build… Joe attended Christ the King Elementary School and graduated from Lanier High School. He prepared himself for his life career by attending Coahoma Junior College in Clarksdake, Mississippi and earning a B.S. Degree from Rust College in Holy Springs, Mississippi and one year at “Thee I Love” Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi while working on his masters. Joe coached for Duck Hill High School in Duck Hill, Mississippi. He later relocated to Jackson, Mississippi and was employed by the city of Jackson Parks & Recreation, Transit Transportation University, Transportation Services and retired from Sysco Corporation. Joe accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age at Union Baptist Church in Holly Bluff, Mississippi but later united with Cherry Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi under the leadership of Pastor Marek D. Walker where he was a proud usher and member until his death. A Time To Love… Joe was united in holy matrimony to Ms. Ella Mae Fox, “The Love of His Life”…his “Pooh Bear”.  A Time To Laugh… Joe’s humorous wit was loved by all he came in contact with. He was the family’s comedian who loved to tell jokes to make people laugh and smile.   A Time To Weep… A Time To Mourn… Cherishing the memories of Joe W. Braden is his loving wife, Ella M. Braden of Jackson, Mississippi; children: Douglas Davis of Jackson, Mississippi, Mario (Kim) Hansbrough of Atlanta, Gerogia, Dewayne (Janet) Hansbrough of Texas, Regina Davis and Toni Braden and Jacqueline Watkins of Jackson, Mississippi; a host of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren; one brother, Michael Williams of Baltimore, Maryland; three sisters: Erma Gaines of Chicago, Illinois, Denise Williams of New York, New York, and Cheryl Williams of Rochester, New York; twelve extended sisters and brothers of Mr. and Mrs. Garrett Scott, Sr. of Yazoo City, Mississippi; a special friend, Walter King, five uncles, four aunts, and a “COUNTRY” of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.Joe was loved and adored by all of his family and friends.
