Kathy Mae Swinney Holmes

Mrs. Kathy Mae Swinney Holmes, daughter of Josie Bell

Swinney and Tony Griffin were born on July 3, 1958. She

departed this earthly journey on June 5, 2026, in Jackson, MS.

Kathy, also known as “Kat,” accepted Christ at an early ag. She

was a member of St. Paul CME Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jervett Holmes, her

mother Josie Swinney, father Tony Griffin, four children

Demetrius, James, Deloris, and Glendale Swinney, her sisters

Verdine Hardge “Bae”, Leslie McNeish “Pig”, and Millie

Swinney.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds

She leaves to cherish her loving memories, two sons: Tony

Swinney and John Swinney (LaWanda) of Bentonia, MS.

Four daughters: Keyanna (Matthew) Cooper of Pearl, MS,

Cynthia Swinney (Lee) of Bentonia, MS, Audrey Swinney

(Tonja) of Jackson, MS, and Dikesha ( Jeremy) Harris of

Pearl, MS. Longtime special friend, Wilson Jackson. 8

grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a host of cousins, other

relatives and friends.
