Kathy A. “Kitty” Strong was born July 9, 1958 in Bentonia, MS to Oleavia Strong and the late Walter L. Strong, Sr. She is preceded in death by her father and nephew, Huey Strong, II. Kathy was a loving, caring, and hardworking mother for her children Cortdarrel Strong and Tatsyana Wade. Her career spreaded through a few places of employment: Sanderson Farm and the ACS Dataplex/ Xerox where she worked for twenty five years until her health declined in the year of 2014. Kathy decision for her confession of faith was made at an early age and she was baptized under the leadership of the late Rev. J.H. Johnson into the Christian family at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a dedicated and loyal member under the leadership of Rev. Charles I. Bradley. Kathu formative years of education began in Yazoo County School District and completed in Madison County School System at East Flora High in 1976, proudly having the alma mater of “The Might Hawk”. Kathy was fascinated with fashion and apparel such as big shades and beautiful jewelry. She also had a love for food that would often lead with a visit to one of her favorite restaurants: Chick- Fil-A, Pizza Hut, O’Charleys, and Chili’s. Kathy had an all-time favorite store which was Walmart, where she visited so often she became known to many as “Miss Walmart”. Kathy leaves to cherish her precious memories that will always live within her children; Cortdarrel Strong and Tatsyanna Wade of Flora, Mississippi; sisters and brothers: Huey (Patricia) Strong of Jackson, Mississippi, Annie (L.C.) Thompson, Dianne Strong Frierson, Deloris (Starklin) Russell, Sr. , Walter Strong, Jr. all of Flora, Mississippi, Deborah Strong of Brandon, Mississippi, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
