Mr. Lem “Mane” Smith Jr. was born March 14, 1943 to the union ofChester Baldwin Sr. & Margarette Smith (Eugene Hardger).“Mane” attended and received his education at Montgomery School.“Mane” worked for over 34 years for Belgrade Lumber Company. Laterbecame employed at MS Chemical plant as a custodian.On June 20, 1967, “Mane” met and married the love of his life Ms.Gloria Dean Figures and to this union three children were born.“Mane” was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, greatgrandfather, relative, friend and made his transition from his earthlyhome to his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 13, 2018.“Mane” leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife Gloria Smith of50 years; children Pollyanna (Cherry William) Fox, Andrea (Charles)Taylor, Trini Lewis and One Special daughter Audrey Henderson; Ninegrandchildren: Edward Charles Taylor, Christopher W. Fox, CherryWilliam Fox, Jannella Fox, Mattie Levison, Michael Lewis, MarlanaTaylor, Cherry C Fox Jr., Marcus Lewis; two great-grandchildrenLaMiya Figures and Lemmie Gates; six sisters: Rosie Smith, ClaraHardger, Mary Alice, Patricia (Rufus) Simpson, Joyce Baldwin andHattie Baldwin; two brothers: Leon (Rose) Smith and Thomas Hardy;nine brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law; two great auntGeorgianna Smith and Louise Smith; a host of nieces, nephews,relatives, friends, a special care giver Ms. Georgianna Mae Cater andthe entire New Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church family.He was preceded in death by his father, mother, daughter Versa LisaSmith; oldest grandson: Lemmie Terrill Figures; two grand-daughters:Montre’ce Cherelle & Andrianna Tresha; one brother: Chester BaldwinJr.; two sisters: Onnie Baldwin, Lucille Neal and two sister-in-laws.
