Leroy, the son of Ethel Perkins and Golden Parker, was born on October 5, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois. At a young age, he moved to Yazoo City, Mississippi, where he was raised by his grandmother. After graduating from high school, Leroy began his working life as a caregiver at King’s Daughter Hospital. He later worked as a supervisor at Water Land before dedicating 30 years of service as a construction worker. Throughout his life, Leroy was known as a kind and generous man – a good Samaritan who was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. He peacefully departed this life, surrounded by family, on April 25, 2026, in Yazoo City, MS. Siblings: Robert Perkins, Jr. (brother); and a host of others. Children: Robert Perkins of Yazoo City, MS; Sharon Perkins Washington of Kansas; Julia Smith (Tony) of Dallas, TX; and Twin Daughters. Bonus Daugther and Care Giver: Gladys Sibley Grandchildren: Michael Perkins; Robert Reed, Jr. (deceased); Christopher Perkins; Franchester Wilson Great Grandchildren: Nyla Brown and Nylan Brown host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
