Lillie Mae Jones

A Reflection of Life Lillie Mae Jones was born June 24, 1936, to Eddie Lee and Lizzie Mae Jones

in Vaughn, Mississippi. She departed this life on October 15, 2025, at her

daughter’s home in Jackson with her family by her side.

Lillie Mae Jones was raised in Vaughan, MS, and her family later moved to

Yazoo City, MS. She joined St. Peter Baptist Church in Yazoo City at an

early age. Lillie Mae attended St. Francis Catholic School in Yazoo City,

Mississippi.

She is survived by three children, [daughters] Eddie Marie Jones of and

Phyllis O. Bell (Anthony), both of Jackson, MS, and [son] Carl E. Jones of

Yazoo City, MS; four grandchildren: LaToya Jones, Jamessa Smith

(Chauncey), and Jamecca Jones, all of Jackson, MS, and Terry “Tre”

Johnson (Tequila) of Euless, TX; eight great-grandchildren: Ashanti Jones

of Jackson, MS, Desmond Jones (Olisha) of Brandon, MS, Jaya Jones of

Jackson, MS, Tremira Johnson of Euless, TX, Janique Jones of Jackson, MS,

Jakari Bell of Euless, TX, Zoey Smith of Jackson, MS, and Bailee Johson of

Euless, TX; three great-great grandchildren: Justin “Junior” Taylor and

Journee Taylor, both of Jackson, MS, and Baby Elias Jones of Brandon, MS;

special friends: Mary Pittman, Magnolia Purvis, Nell Johnson, and Mary

T. Curran, and a host of family and friends from near and far.

Lillie Mae is preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Lee and Lizzie Mae

Jones and his daughter, Linda Diane Jones.
