Mamie Esther McClelland was born to Lester and Susie Mosley in De’Kalb, MS on February 9, 1928. She peacefully departed this life at the age of 90 on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at her home. Mamie accepted Christ at an early age at Calvary M. B. Church in Midnight, MS. She loved the Lord and would not hesitate to share her faith in Jesus Christ. Mamie later went on to become a member of New Hope M. B. Church in Louise, MS where she was a faithful member and served on the mother board until her health began to fail. After her health began to fail, her membership was moved back to Calvary M.B. Church where she was a member until her death. Mamie loved her family. She would do what she could to help anyone. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling in her spare time. Mamie would be in Mississippi one day and Illinois the next. On any given day you could find her gathering her fishing poles to go sit on the creekside. Mamie was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Susie Mosley, 7 siblings: Teretha Lee, Florence Walker, Bonnie Criss, JD McClinton, AC, Charlie and Floyd (Joe) Mosley; 4 children: Ella Cox, Rosie Peterson and Cleveland and Sammy McClinton. She leaves to cherish her memory 5 children, Audrey (W.C) Johnson of Louise, MS, Erma Kamara of Springfield, IL, L.C. Davis of Phoenix, AZ, James (Josephine) McClinton of Country Club Hills, IL, John (Diane) McClinton of Bolingbrook, IL; 51 grandchildren, 81 great-grandchildren and 32 great great-grandchildren; a special daughter in law, Fannie McClinton of Belzoni, MS; a special son in law, John May of Jackson , MS; a special sister, Eula Ray of Louise, MS; a special friend, Callie Jones of Springfield, IL and a host of other family and friends.
