Patricia Harris Wright Turnage was born June 4, 1956 in Yazoo County, MS to Earl Sanders, Sr and Berdia Mae Cayson. Early in life, Patricia confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at Temple Love Missionary Baptist Church where she attended faithfully with her grandmother Susie, he mother, and siblings. She later joined Southside Assembly of God, then finally Making Disciples of Christ where she was very active and involved in spreading the love of Christ through community service. Pat, as she was affectionally called by family and friends, knew early on she wanted to be a social worker. From as early as fifth grade, she idolized a former social and she wanted to just like he. After graduating from William B. Murrah High School in 1975, she attended Mississippi Valley State University where she met Johnny G. Beard and to this union a child was born. She would later meet and marry David O. Wright and they had two children. Determined to finish what started many what started many before, Pat enrolled in Jackson State University. She received her Bachelor of Social Work in 2006 and her Masters in 2011.Pat was employed by the MS Department of Child Protection Services as a Regional Area Social Worker Supervisor. As a regional supervisor, she was a mentor was able to share knowledge, and motivate fellow social workers to provide the best service to the children;a job she did not take lightly. Pat enjoyed life was always willing to open her doors for a family function, but everyone knew not to touch her things. She enjoyed attending family reunions, giving advice, shopping, donating to her time to the community, and just spending time with her grandchildren. On Friday April 27,2018, God chose to call her home. Pat was preceded in death by her parents: grandmother Susie Sutton Starling: Elbert Turnage; a brother; Marshall Harris; a sister, Pamela Sanders; and a host of aunts, uncles, and friends.
