Robert Lee McNeil, affectionately known as "Skibo," was born on March 15, 1952, in Porterville, Mississippi. He passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, at his residence located at 727 Shoreline Drive in Yazoo City, Mississippi. Robert lived a life that many will remember fondly, encompassing both hard work and a love for family.

A logger by profession, Robert dedicated many years of his life to working for Little Man Strickland. His commitment to his career exemplified his strong work ethic, and he pursued his work with diligence and pride. Beyond his professional life, Robert found joy in his garden, nurturing plants and flowers that reflected his passion for the beauty of nature.

Having graduated from Spencer High School, Robert carried forward an indomitable spirit characterized by a unique blend of toughness and endearment. Described as "mean but lovable," he left a lasting impression on those who knew him, often eliciting a smile through his spirited demeanor.

Robert leaves behind a loving family, including his life partner, Rosie Lafton. He is also survived by three sisters: Liza Gowby, Annie McNeil, and Georgia Protis; one brother, Johnny McNeil Sr.; one daughter, Michelle Powers; three sons, Robert McNeil Jr., Kevin McNeil, and Sedrick McNeil; and two stepchildren, Eliza Bankhead and Cindy Bankhead. Additionally, he is survived by a host of nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who were all integral parts of his vibrant family life.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Callie McNeil and Marshell McNeil; a sister, Mary Jenkins; and stepdaughters Karen Bankhead and Samantha Jones, who will be remembered in the hearts of those left behind.

Visitation will be held on December 5, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Shaffer - Collins Funeral Home, located at 247 West 6th Street, Yazoo City, MS. The funeral service will follow on December 6, 2025, starting at 2:30 PM at the same location. Robert will then be laid to rest on December 7, 2025, at Mt. Cephus Primitive Baptist Church in Porterville, MS, at 2:00 PM.
