Shauntez Deontae Ball, 32, of Flora, Mississippi, passed away on

December 16, 2025, in Flora, he was preceded in death by his

grandmother Annie Pearl McElroy, grandfathers Charles T McElroy,

John Wesley Thompson and Roy Lee Ransom all of Flora, Mississippi.

He was born on June 22, 1993, to Sherron Simpson and Shengy

Johnson in Jackson, Mississippi. Shauntez was the best son, grandson,

brother, uncle and friend. He graduated from Madison Central High

School in 2012 and received a football scholarship to Pearl River

Community College where he played cornerback and he would always

say no one was better than him; we all heard that! He brought joy and

laughter wherever he went; if we were ever facing a difficult situation,

he would always remind us that “it’ll work out”. He chose to see the

good in every circumstance.

Shauntez is survived by his mother, Sherron Simpson (Douglas); his

father, Shengy Johnson (Rhonda); his grandmothers: Pearlie Ransom

and Patricia Thompson; sisters: Lashundra (Charles), Derrica and

Anna; his brothers: Shengy and Douglas; his nieces: Adrienne, Kelsey

and Kyndall Jai; his nephews: Calvion, Kaleb, Christian and Kaiden;

his aunts: Shangy Sanders, Deidra Reed, Precia Johnson, Lutisha

Johnson-Files, Evangelist Glenda Faye Ball, Angela Nunnery and

Vera Williams; uncles: Reverend L.V. Ball Sr, L.C. Simpson and

Kenneth Nunnery; great-aunts: Shirley Hudson (Joseph), Rochelle

Ball, Jeanette Singleton Fuqua, Earnestine Ross, Lynn Valentine,

Patricia Ann Singleton, Marie Singleton, and Mary Battle; and a host

of loving cousins, other relatives and friends.
