Sherry Shonta Smith

Ms. Sherry Shonta Smith, the second child of the late Willie Smith, Jr. and Gloria Denson Smith, was born on October 13, 1977.In accordance with God's will she departed this life on November 15, 2017 when god called her home to rest.Sherry confessed Christ at an early age at Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. James McClenty. During Sherry's youth years she served as a junior usher and later joined the choir and praise team. She rededicated her life to God on May 25, 2014 under the leadership of Dr. Roosevelt Barrett, whom she loved dearly.Sherry graduated from Madison Central High School in 1996. She always dreamed of becoming a Mortician. She enjoyed sharing her testimony of how good God is and if you bear no cross, you won't get no crown. Sherry would always say that she just didn't want a crown; she wanted some stars and glitter in it.Sherry's memories and love will be cherished by her children: La'China and Tydarion Smith; her mother: Gloria Smith; grandmother: Catherine Champion, all of Flora, MS; two sisters: Cassandra (Charles) Bass of Byram, MS; Marranda (Derrick) King of Flora, MS; one step-sister Nerissa Thompson of Flora, MS; two neices: Reanna and Chardae Bass; one nephew: Derrick King, Jr.; two aunts: Lisa Champion and Flora Ball of Flora,MS; three uncles: Willie (Patricia) Champion and Charles Champion of Flora, MS, Eddie (Pamela) Champion of Jackson, MS; five great uncles; three great aunts, and many special cousins& friends who will miss her dearly
